Custom manufacturing software

Manufacturing order and quotation software

Connect customer specifications, quotation revisions, approvals and dispatch follow-up in a workflow shaped around your team.

Where manufacturing orders need a clearer handoff

A buyer sends a specification by email. A revised drawing arrives in a message. The commercial team changes the quotation, while production is still looking at an earlier version. The software requirement is to make the current requirement, responsible person and next action visible.

iFactory India builds custom business software from Chandigarh. For a manufacturer, distributor or job-work business, a useful first project can cover one enquiry-to-order process before considering a wider system.

What a first version can include

A proposed workflow to assess with your team
StageInformation to captureAcceptance check
EnquiryCustomer, product, quantity, specification and ownerA colleague can find the complete current requirement.
QuotationVersion, price, validity, terms and internal approvalThe team can identify which quotation was approved.
Order confirmationAgreed specification, promised date and supporting documentsChanges require a recorded review before work proceeds.
Production follow-upAgreed milestones, blockers and assigned actionsUsers can distinguish planned work from confirmed progress.
DispatchReady quantities, partial dispatches and outstanding actionsThe team can explain what has shipped and what remains.

These are scope options, not features that every business must buy. Permissions, file handling, revision history and reporting should follow the responsibilities of the people using the system. A dashboard is useful when its underlying records are kept current.

Can it work with our accounting or ERP software?

We first review the APIs, exports, permissions and identifiers available in your existing tools. Decide which system owns each record, how updates move between systems and what happens if a connection fails. A standalone tracker with an agreed export may be a suitable first step.

Machine connectivity, automated production scheduling, offline use and regulated validation require separate assessment. A commercial order tracker should not be presented as a complete manufacturing ERP without that work.

How our operating experience informs the discussion

Our WOOL O WOOL family-business case study covers school and institutional ordering, billing, stock movements and operating exceptions. It gives us concrete questions about product choices and staff handoffs. Each manufacturing client's process still needs its own discovery and acceptance checks.

Start with a focused paid pilot

  1. Choose one product line or enquiry process and share anonymised sample records.
  2. Map responsibilities, revision rules and recurring exceptions.
  3. Agree the first version, price, milestones, data access and acceptance criteria in writing.
  4. Test realistic orders, changes and partial dispatches before wider rollout.

Measure enquiry completeness, time spent finding the latest specification and missed follow-up actions. Establish a baseline before claiming an improvement.

What should we prepare before a discussion?

Bring one example enquiry, its quotation revisions, a confirmed order and an exception that caused extra work. Note the current tools and who needs access. Use the project brief planner to organise this information.
